KSE-100 Index gains 120.30 points at PSX

The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued its positive momentum on Wednesday, gaining 120.30 points, a positive change of 0.07 percent, to close at 168,580.41 points against 168,460.11 points recorded in the previous trading session.

ISLAMABAD, Oct 7 (APP):The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued its positive momentum on Wednesday, gaining 120.30 points, a positive change of 0.07 percent, to close at 168,580.41 points against 168,460.11 points recorded in the previous trading session.
The ready market witnessed a trading volume of 586.861 million shares, compared to 432.015 million shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value increased to Rs 22.365 billion from Rs 20.139 billion.
Market capitalisation increased to Rs 18.747 trillion from Rs 18.712 trillion recorded a day earlier.
Out of 501 companies that traded in the ready market, 272 posted gains, 184 suffered losses, while 45 remained unchanged.
K-Electric Ltd. led the volume chart with 82.659 million shares, followed by Cnergyico PK with 68.756 million shares and Pak Refinery with 44.141 million shares.
Among the top gainers, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited surged by Rs 440.02 to close at Rs 25,680.00, while Hoechst Pakistan Limited advanced by Rs 55.75 to settle at Rs 3,979.04.
On the losing side, Nestle Pakistan Limited declined by Rs 30.66 to close at Rs 6,995.19, while S.S.Oil Mills Limited fell by Rs 28.92 to Rs 401.66.
In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 174.910 million shares with a traded value of Rs 8.472 billion, compared with 125.121 million shares worth Rs 7.168 billion in the previous session.
Of the 296 companies traded in the DFC market, 176 advanced, 115 declined and 5 remained unchanged.
