ISLAMABAD, Oct 25 (APP): The export of Jewellary from the
country increased by 15.50 per cent to US $2.049 million in first
quarter of Fiscal Year 2016-17 as against the exports of $1.774
million same period of last year.
The gems exports, however witnessed a decline of 11.01 per
cent in July-September (2016-17) as compared the first three months
of previous financial year.
The gems exports fell to $574,000 in July-September (2016-17)
from $645,000 in first three months of the year 2015-14, according
to latest figures released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
Furniture export witnessed a nominal increase of 0.16 per cent
during the period under review as the exports rose to $1.288 million
in July-September (2016-17) from $1.286 million in first three months of the year 2015-16.
The exports of molasses however fell sharply by 48.7 per cent to $812,000 in first three months of current fiscal year from $1.583 million in same period of preceding fiscal year.
Similarly cement exports also declined by 11.86 per cent in first quarter of current fiscal year as it went down to $77.299 million in July-September (2016-17) from $87.701 million in same period of previous year.
The guar and guar products’ exports also fell by 35.92 per
cent to $4.559 million in first quarter of current fiscal year from
the exports of 7.115 million in same period of last year.
