Jaranwala VTI hosts Job Fair for skilled youth

FAISALABAD, Nov 20 (APP):The Vocational Training Institute (VTI) Jaranwala organised a job fair for connecting skilled youth with employment opportunities in local and international markets.
Chairman Punjab Vocational Training Council (PVTC) Khalid Masood Chaudhry attended the event as chief guest and encouraged the participating trainees. He assured full institutional support and facilities for strengthening vocational training in the region.
The fair brought together HR representatives from multiple companies who conducted on-the-spot interviews for graduating trainees.
More than 150 young men and nearly 70 women participated, reflecting the growing interest in skill-based employment pathways.
PVTC Chairman Khalid Masood Chaudhary speaking on the occasion highlighted the promising prospects for skilled workers and said that 191 vocational institutes across Punjab were offering training in various trades directly aligned with industrial demand.
He said that PVTC’s core mission was to supply trained manpower to local industries in addition to preparing a skilled workforce for overseas employment.
During his visit, PVTC Chairman inspected various trades and appreciated the performance of instructors in addition to interacting with the trainees regarding their future plans.
Talking to media persons, he said that Jaranwala institute currently offers 13 trades and his visit was aimed at reviewing the quality of training being provided.
He said that rapid technological advancements required constant upgrading of laboratories and equipment. District Board of Management was responsible for taking such decisions, he added.
He said that additional trades such as construction, artificial intelligence and e-commerce would be introduced in line with future market requirements, subject to approval by the District Board of Management.
He said that PVTC had set a target to skill 75,000 trainees province-wide, out of which 45,000 would be supported in securing employment and 10,000 would be prepared for entrepreneurship.
He said that PVTC would provide international-standard training so that the trainees could secure jobs or start businesses immediately after completing their courses.
Earlier, VTI Principal Sajid Habib welcomed the visiting delegation and briefed them about ongoing initiatives of the institute.
He said that VTI Jaranwala team remained committed to delivering high-quality modern training for youth. It was also actively working on several new measures to further improve the learning environment and professional readiness of trainees, he added.
