ISLAMABAD, Oct 23 (APP):Federal Minister for Investment and Chairman Board of Investment (BoI), Qaiser Ahmed Shaikh on Thursday held a series of important meetings with senior leadership and investment officials of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Sharjah to discuss matters related to bilateral investment, economic cooperation, and strengthening mutual partnerships.

On the sidelines of the World Investment Conference 2025, the minister met with Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah; Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq); Thani Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade; the Chairman of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry; the CEO of Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP); Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, UAE Minister of Investment; and representatives of the Pakistan Business Council Sharjah.
During the meetings, both sides discussed ways to further strengthen investment and economic relations between Pakistan and the UAE, explore new avenues for foreign direct investment (FDI), and promote sustainable economic collaboration.
The Federal Minister highlighted the recent reform initiatives of the Board of Investment (BOI) and the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), particularly the Regulatory Reforms, Asaan Karobar Act, Special Economic Zones (SEZs), the Committee on Coordination of Regulatory Reforms (CCoRR), and the Business Facilitation Committee (BFC).
Shaikh reaffirmed the Pakistan’s full support to the private sector, business community, and investors, emphasizing that Pakistan has emerged as an attractive destination for investment, offering a conducive environment and comprehensive facilitation for investors.
Earlier, representing Pakistan at the World Investment Conference 2025, the Federal Minister participated in the General Assembly and Steering Committee Meeting of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA).
Addressing the conference, he reaffirmed the commitment BoI to advancing collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing among world Investment Promotion Agencies (WIPAs) worldwide.
He emphasized a shared vision to promote sustainable investment and economic diversification, urging countries to deepen collective efforts for global investment promotion and inclusive economic growth.
