FAISALABAD, Jan 16 (APP):President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) Rehan Naseem Bharara said on Thursday skills must be imparted to women for promotion of domestic handicraft industry in Pakistan.
Addressing an exhibition of handicrafts in the Government Vocational Training Institute for Women, D-Ground Peoples Colony, he said that young girls could not only earn respectable jobs for their families but also contribute their productive role in the overall national economy by getting proper training in this field.
He expressed satisfaction that the government was taking fundamental steps for the mainstreaming of the female population. “Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has also focused on skills training so that the women and other marginalized segments could be made productive part of the society”, he said and added that TEVTA and other institutions were also making their efforts to further expedite the economic growth of the country.
FCCI Chief formally inaugurated the exhibition by cutting a ribbon and also visited various stalls where the girls’ students had displayed a large variety of their handmade products.
He appreciated their skills and creative abilities and distributed certificates among them.
Later, a special shield was also presented to Mr. Rehan Naseem Bharara President FCCI.
