HYDERABAD, Dec 13 (APP):The Hyderabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industry (HCSTSI), in collaboration with Pakistan Single Window (PSW)and Alibaba.com, here on Saturday organized an awareness seminar at the Chamber Secretariat aimed at facilitating traders and industrialists through a unified digital platform for all import and export documentation requirements.
Addressing the session, Rizwan Samad, Deputy Manager Change Management, Pakistan Single Window (PSW), said that PSW is a comprehensive digital platform transforming Pakistan’s trade processes in line with modern international standards by integrating all import, export, and transit trade procedures into a single online portal.
He informed the participants that traders can now complete all import and export-related tasks from home using just a computer or mobile phone, eliminating the need to submit more than 20 different physical documents as required previously. He added that NADRA verification would also be soon made available online. Rizwan Samad further highlighted that PSW’s online system for permits, certificates, bank payments, customs clearance and document processing had significantly reduced both time and cost. To date, PSW has processed over 97,000 subscribers, more than 1.3 million declarations, and over 850,000 LPCOs, while the integration of 29 banks has ensured faster and more transparent financial procedures, he added.
On this occasion, Muhammad Sadiq, Business Growth Manager Alibaba.com, briefed the participants on the Alibaba registration process and the numerous benefits of online exports. He stated that Alibaba.com was the world’s largest B2B e-commerce platform, enabling Pakistani traders and small businesses to easily connect with global buyers. Explaining the registration process, he said that companies can join the platform as “Global Suppliers” after completing a few simple steps, including company details, product listings, business verification and selection of a suitable payment plan.
Muhammad Sadiq added that Alibaba’s built-in tools supported global marketing, direct buyer communication through quotations, customer base expansion and secured payment systems—greatly enhancing business reliability. He noted that thousands of Pakistani companies were significantly increasing their exports through the platform and even small businesses were gaining access to international markets at minimal cost, which was highly beneficial for the growth of Pakistan’s export sector.
Welcoming the participants, Shan Sehgal, Vice President HCSTSI, appreciated the collaboration between HCSTSI, PSW, and Alibaba.com, calling it an important milestone for the business community of Hyderabad. He said that such sessions provided traders with valuable awareness of modern trade trends and equipped small traders and the small-scale industry with the guidance needed to align themselves with global market requirements. Shan Sehgal emphasized that HCSTSI had always been committed to facilitating, guiding and training the business community, and stressed that such awareness sessions should not only continue at the chamber but also be extended to colleges and universities so that students and young entrepreneurs in the Hyderabad region could gain new opportunities for business growth.
During the event, Hassan bin Zia, Senior Business Analyst PSW, also gave a detailed presentation on the technical features of PSW, its digital integration and how the platform is transforming the country’s trade ecosystem through automation. Likewise, Usama Shah, Growth Manager Trademor, discussed modern strategies for digital marketing, e-commerce exports, and reaching global buyers through online marketplaces.
