ISLAMABAD, Oct 30 (APP):Federal Minister for Investment, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh on Thursday said that the government prioritized the documented economy for the smooth functioning of a country’s trade to a sustainable national economy.
Business community and traders play an pivotal role in the national economy and illegal trade is a non traditional threat to national security, Federal Minister for Investment, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh said this while addressing the first annual roundtable,” The Challenge of Illegal Business to Pakistan’s National Security” organized by Institute of Regional Studies Islamabad.
The illegal trade is a major challenge to the country’s economic stability and the government is ensuring a conducive environment for business in the country.
There are immense investment opportunities in Pakistan and all possible facilities and incentives are being provided to foreign investors, he said.
Sheikh said that the business community is the backbone of the country’s development and investor confidence is being restored through business reforms.
The Minister said that if the economy is strong, the country will develop and opportunities for the promotion of investment, industry and trade will increase.
He said the share of Pakistani products in global markets must be increased and the government is committed to stabilizing the economy.
