ISLAMABAD, Aug 15 (APP):The price of gold in the country witnessed a downward trend on Saturday, with the price of 24-karat gold declining by Rs500 per tola to Rs459,936, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.
The price of 24-karat gold of 10 grams decreased by Rs429 to Rs394,320, while the price of 22-karat gold of 10 grams fell by Rs393 to Rs361,473.
In the international market, gold was quoted at $4,375 per ounce, showing a decline of $5.
Meanwhile, the price of silver witnessed an increase, with 24-karat silver rising by Rs13 per tola to Rs6,949.
The price of 24-karat silver for 10 grams increased by Rs11 to Rs5,957, while international silver was quoted at $64.70 per ounce, up by $0.13.
The gold rates were based on interbank exchange rates, with purity set at 999.1 for 24-karat gold, the association said.
