GLOBE Pakistan Summit 2025 launched

ISLAMABAD, Jul 10 (APP): The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce on Thursday launched the first-ever GLOBE Pakistan Summit 2025 to promote e-commerce.

It was a landmark platform dedicated to accelerating Pakistan’s digital trade, e-commerce ecosystem, and regional business connectivity, said a press release.

The summit was inaugurated by Rana Ihsan Afzal Khan, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Commerce.

Faiz Ahmad Chadhar, Chief Executive TDAP, delivered the keynote address, setting the tone for the day’s discourse on digital transformation, trade facilitation, and Pakistan’s e-commerce vision.

Jawad Paul, Secretary Commerce, in his remarks, appreciated TDAP’s pivotal role as the implementation arm of the Ministry in operationalizing the National E-Commerce Policy.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to creating a compatible, secure, and globally connected digital trade environment.

Ms. Amna Baloch, Foreign Secretary, highlighted the strategic importance of economic diplomacy in expanding Pakistan’s trade footprint and strengthening regional connectivity through digital corridors.

The event witnessed strong diplomatic participation from the embassies and missions of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkiye, Turkmenistan, KSA, China, USA, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Egypt — reaffirming the growing regional and international interest in Pakistan’s e-commerce potential.

Also in attendance was James Dong, President International Markets of Alibaba International Digital Commerce Group, whose presence underscored Alibaba’s strategic interest in Pakistan’s e-commerce ecosystem.

In her address, Ms. Rafia Syed, Director General Services Division, TDAP, outlined TDAP’s initiatives to translate the National E-Commerce Policy into action — including the Pakistan Trade Portal, the National Exporters Training Program, and regional MoUs with Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, and Turkiye to deepen cross-border digital trade linkages.

The summit featured a high powered panel comprising leading companies including DHL, Jazz Cash, LAAM, PSW, Devsinc and Daraz, all involved in E-Commerce ecosystem followed by hybrid B2B matchmaking, live platform demonstrations, and technical dialogues on e-commerce facilitation, logistics integration, and fintech innovation — with international participants from government & trade bodies of  Turkiye, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Belarus.

The event witnessed participation from platforms such as Daraz, LAAM, JazzCash, Raast, and trade bodies including P@SHA, Ignite, and government organizations including Pakistan Single Window, NLC, State Bank of Pakistan and Pakistan Post.

The GLOBE Pakistan Summit marks a new era of digital diplomacy, where trade corridors are built not just through infrastructure but through code, connectivity, and collaboration.

The event continued throughout the day with technical sessions and strategic networking among public and private stakeholders.
