SIALKOT, Jan 08 (APP):Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Pakistan Ina Lepel accompanied by First Secretary (Economic Development) Miriam Buedenbender-Buchholz visited the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and held an interactive session with the business community of Sialkot.
The distinguished guests were received by Senior Vice President (SVP) SCCI Muhammad Murad Arshad along with leading industrialists and exporters.
During the interaction, Murad Arshad underscored the importance of Germany for Sialkot’s export-oriented industries, noting that a majority of renowned German brands maintain strong business linkages with manufacturers in Sialkot.
He appreciated the constructive role of the German Embassy in facilitating bilateral trade and investment and highlighted that the year 2026 marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Germany, founded on shared values of democracy, human rights, and economic cooperation.
He further emphasized the potential for technology transfer, skills development, and knowledge sharing from Germany to enhance the capacity of Sialkot’s skilled workforce.
German Ambassador Ina Lepel lauded the industrial strength and entrepreneurial spirit of Sialkot and reaffirmed Germany’s readiness to support cooperation in key areas, including climate change, health and social protection, private sector development, and the upgrading of vocational and technical education institutions, with a view to further strengthening bilateral economic ties.
Earlier, German Ambassador Ina Lepel visited the Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sialkot (WCCIS).
President WCCIS Dr. Mariam Siddiqa shared a detailed briefing on WCCIS, including its vision, ongoing projects, and achievements.
The Ambassador appreciated the Chamber’s initiatives and its role in supporting women led enterprises and sustainable economic growth.
The meeting was productive and insightful, marking a positive step towards future collaboration.
WCCIS extends its sincere appreciation to the German Embassy and looks forward to developing a strong and meaningful partnership.
