First International Conference on Recycling on June 10 in Faisalabad

The First International Conference on Recycling would be held at Serena Hotel Faisalabad on Wednesday (June 10, 2026), bringing together more than 300 policymakers, researchers, entrepreneurs, industrialists, international experts and leading companies to discuss practical pathways for recycling, circular economy and sustainable industrial transformation.

FAISALABAD, Jun 06 (APP): The First International Conference on Recycling would be held at Serena Hotel Faisalabad on Wednesday (June 10, 2026), bringing together more than 300 policymakers, researchers, entrepreneurs, industrialists, international experts and leading companies to discuss practical pathways for recycling, circular economy and sustainable industrial transformation.
The University of Kamalia (UKM) in collaboration with Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) and Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) would organize the conference under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Yasir Nawab Vice Chancellor UKM; Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam Vice Chancellor GCUF; and Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen Vice Chancellor GCWUF.
UKM spokesman Muhammad Aamir Shakeel said here on Saturday that a major highlight of the conference would be the participation of around 80-100 CEOs and company heads from different industrial sectors, making it one of the most significant industry-academia gatherings on recycling and circular economy in Faisalabad.
He said that the day-long conference would run from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and it would feature high-level panel discussions, keynote sessions, invited talks, technical presentations and parallel thematic sessions.
Key themes include textile circularity, industrial recycling, plastic waste valorisation, biodegradable materials, smart waste systems, agro-food waste utilisation, bioenergy, wastewater reuse, traceability, sustainable materials and circular product systems, he added.
He said that industry participation would cover major economic sectors including textiles, fashion, footwear, poultry, plastics, agro-food, recycling technologies, waste management, entrepreneurship and sustainable manufacturing.
The conference would also focus on developing Circular Faisalabad as a regional model by linking universities, chambers, municipalities, industries, entrepreneurs and international partners, he added.
He said that international participation is expected from Germany, Kenya, UK, Netherlands, Sri Lanka and Estonia, bringing global perspectives on circular economy, textile recycling, traceability, sustainable supply chains and waste-to-value innovation.
Similarly, the speakers from more than 15 universities would share their research-based solutions in this conference, which is supported by the SMEP Program, UN Trade & Development (UNCTAD), and UK International Development, he added.
