Finance Minister Rana Afzal calls on Sindh Governor

KARACHI, Jan 04 (APP):The Minister of State for Finance Rana
Muhammad Afzal on Thursday called on Governor Sindh, Muhammad Zubair here at the Governor House.
At the meeting, issues including steps taken for
the promotion of trade and economic activities, government’s
economic policies and foreign investment came up for discussion,
a satement of the Governor House said.
The Governor was of the view that the province of Sindh was
benefitting more as a result of the government’s economic
policies as these are producing positive results.
He said that the foreign investment was on the increase and
the trade and economic activities are contributing towards
poverty alleviation and generating employment opportunities.
Zubair pointed out that the record generation of revenue
would help make available Rs 2,400 billion for social sector
development of the provinces.
He also referred to his recent visits to Britain, United
States, Dubai and Qatar where road shows were conducted that
helped painting a soft image of Pakistan besides true picture of
conducive investment environment in the country.
Governor said that investors are heading towards Karachi for
investment and the government was providing every required
cooperation and assistance in this regard.

praised the efforts of the Sindh Governor.
He further said that attainment of the economic targets
would also help improve the standard of living of the people at
large.
The Minister of State pointed out that continued economic
and trade activities in Karachi augur well for the economic
stability of the country.
He assured that the federal government would extend every
cooperation for development of the province.
Rana Afzal said that the country has embarked on the path of
development and the improvement in energy situation is resulting
in new era for development and prosperity.
