ISLAMABAD, Dec 27 (APP): Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb here on Saturday expressed deep sorrow and grief over the passing of former finance minister and former governor State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Dr Shamshad Akhtar.
In a condolence message, Aurangzeb said that Dr Shamshad Akhtar was a dignified, principled and prudent voice in Pakistan’s economic history.
He said the late Dr Shamshad Akhtar was a highly accomplished economist and an outstanding human being, whom he held in great esteem both personally and professionally.
The finance minister said that Dr Shamshad Akhtar rendered valuable services to the country by serving with utmost integrity and dedication on various key positions related to the management of the national economy.
He said that the national services of Dr Shamshad Akhtar would always be remembered with respect.
The federal minister extended heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family, friends and colleagues of the deceased and prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul.
