FESCO introduces RAAST QR payment facility for electricity bills

Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has introduced a new digital payment facility for electricity bills through “RAAST” in line with the government’s cashless economy policy and directives of the Ministry of Energy (Power Division).

FAISALABAD, Mar 14 (APP):Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has introduced a new digital payment facility for electricity bills through “RAAST” in line with the government’s cashless economy policy and directives of the Ministry of Energy (Power Division).
FESCO spokesperson Muhammad Saeed Raza said that under this initiative, all FESCO consumers can now pay their electricity bills easily, instantly and without any additional charges through the “RAAST” Rapid Accounts-Based Settlement System by using mobile banking applications.
He said that this facility would promote digital payments and provide consumers with a modern and secure method to clear their bills without visiting banks or payment centers.
The consumers can select the “RAAST” payment option in their bank’s mobile application and scan the QR code printed on their electricity bill to make instant payments, he added.
He said that the system does not impose any service or additional charges, making it a convenient and cost-effective option for consumers.
He said that payments made through “RAAST” would be updated instantly in FESCO system, enabling relevant officers to verify transactions online without delay.
This initiative is expected to enhance transparency, speed and efficiency in the bill payment process while improving consumer facilitation, he added.
He further said that under the directives of the Ministry of Energy (Power Division), the power distribution companies have been instructed to gradually implement payment systems through the “RAAST” platform for P2G (Person-to-Government), G2P (Government-to-Person) and G2G (Government-to-Government) transactions.
In this regard, FESCO has also introduced QR code and RAAST-based payment facilities for electricity bills, demand notices, detection bills and other related payments, he added.
He urged the consumers to benefit from this modern and secure digital facility and prioritize bill payments through “RAAST” so that the payment system could become more efficient and faster.
All concerned officers were also directed to create awareness among the public about the new system and play an active role in promoting digital payments, he added.
