RAWALPINDI, Sep 17 (APP):Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi visited the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (RCCI), where he met with the newly elected office bearers.
RCCI President Usman Shaukat, Group Leader and former President Sohail Altaf, Senior Vice President Khalid Farooq Qazi, former presidents, executive members and representatives of the business community warmly welcomed the Federal Minister at the Chamber House.
During the meeting, Federal Minister Hanif Abbasi congratulated the newly elected office-bearers, including President Nausherwan Khalil Khan, Senior Vice President Wasim Aslam and Vice President Ikram-ur-Rehman Abbasi, and expressed his best wishes for their tenure.
Hanif Abbasi said that the success of the new team on all 20 seats reflected the confidence of the Rawalpindi business community in the RCCI and the Mian Parvez Aslam Group. He congratulated the Chamber leadership on securing the mandate of the business community and expressed confidence that the newly elected office-bearers would actively work for the promotion of trade, industry and economic activity.
The Federal Minister assured the newly elected leadership of his full cooperation and support from the Ministry of Railways. He said that all possible resources would be utilized to facilitate the business community, promote commercial activities and support development initiatives.
He particularly encouraged the business community to make greater use of Pakistan Railways’ freight services, highlighting the potential of rail-based transportation to facilitate the movement of goods, reduce logistics pressures and support trade and industrial activity.
Speaking on the occasion, Group Leader Sohail Altaf said that securing all 20 seats in the Chamber elections was not only an honour but also a significant responsibility. He said the result reflected the trust and confidence of the business community in the Chamber and its leadership.
The newly elected office-bearers reaffirmed their commitment to serving the business community with dedication and determination. They said the RCCI would continue to work for the promotion of trade and industry, strengthening business-government coordination and creating an enabling environment for economic growth in Rawalpindi and the wider region.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss matters of mutual interest, particularly the role of Pakistan Railways in facilitating trade, improving freight connectivity and supporting the business community.
