FDA intensifies campaign against illegal commercialization

FAISALABAD, Sep 29 (APP): Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has intensified the ongoing campaign against illegal commercialization in FDA-controlled residential colonies.

In this regard, enforcement teams have been directed to ensure strict implementation of the commercialization policy and take effective measures for the recovery of prescribed charges and imposed penalties in cases involving the commercialization of residential properties.

A meeting to review progress on these matters was held under the chairmanship of Additional Director General FDA Qaiser Abbas Rind. Directors Town Planning Asma Mohsin and Afnan Saeed Sindhu, Director Estate Management-I Junaid Hassan Manj, Deputy Director Finance Adnan Shehzad, Deputy Director IT Abdullah Noor and other concerned officers attended the meeting.

Reviewing the progress of the ongoing campaign against illegal commercialization of properties in FDA-controlled residential colonies, including Katchi Abadis, the Additional Director General FDA emphasized that departmental measures must be implemented without any leniency or delay to ensure that the use of residential properties for commercial purposes remains within the legal framework.

He directed that applications received for commercialization of properties be processed expeditiously and stressed that applicants should be provided with necessary facilitation and comprehensive guidance so they can complete the commercialization process within the stipulated timeframe and in accordance with prescribed rules and regulations.

Qaiser Abbas Rind stated that preventing illegal commercial activities while extending possible facilitation to property owners who fulfill legal requirements is among FDA’s key priorities. To achieve this objective, effective coordination and cooperation among the relevant departments should be further strengthened to eliminate unnecessary delays in the scrutiny of applications, assessment of charges, and approval process, he added.

He further directed that field surveys and monitoring be made more effective to identify properties violating the commercialization policy. Property owners found involved in violations should be issued notices in accordance with the rules followed by appropriate legal action, he added.

He also instructed the concerned officers to ensure regular follow-up for the recovery of commercialization fees, outstanding dues and penalties while keeping the authorities informed about recovery progress.

The meeting reaffirmed the commitment to continuously pursue measures aimed at ensuring transparent, systematic, and lawful commercialization practices in FDA-controlled residential colonies.

It was further emphasized that, alongside preventing violations, the recovery of government dues would be ensured through strict implementation of the relevant rules and regulations.
