FCCI inks MoU with EXIM Bank to boost exports

FAISALABAD, Apr 23 (APP):Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Export-Import (EXIM) Bank of Pakistan to jointly promote imports and exports from Faisalabad in addition to establishing a dedicated facilitation desk at FCCI for local traders.
FCCI President Farooq Yousaf Sheikh and President/Chief Executive Officer of EXIM Bank Shahbaz Hussain Syed signed the agreement to strengthen trade support services for the business community.
FCCI President Farooq Yousaf Sheikh said that during recent visit of EXIM Bank President to FCCI, both sides reached consensus on various measures to facilitate the exporters.
Under this agreement, EXIM Bank would extend essential financial and advisory support to the exporters in Faisalabad, he added.
He said that the bank would function as a “one-window” platform for providing access to information, guidance and initial processing facilities for its products and services.
This initiative is expected to simplify procedures and enhance ease of doing business for the exporters in this region, he added.
FCCI President further said that seminars and workshops would be organized to raise awareness among exporters about export finance, export credit insurance, mitigation of trade risks and various other products offered by EXIM Bank.
The establishment of EXIM Bank desk at FCCI would enable local importers and exporters to conveniently access professional support and financial solutions which would ultimately contribute to increase trade volumes and economic growth in Faisalabad, he added.
