FAISALABAD, Apr 23 (APP): Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) and Baba Guru Nanak University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen industry-academia linkages and promote skill development in the region.
FCCI President Farooq Yousaf Sheikh and University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Imran signed the MoU on behalf of their institutes for enhancing collaboration between industry and educational institutions.
Speaking on the occasion, FCCI Chief Farooq Yousaf Sheikh said that both institutions would jointly organize training programs, seminars, workshops and conferences to develop a skilled workforce particularly in the areas surrounding Nankana Sahib.
He said that the collaboration would not only benefit students by equipping them with market-relevant skills but also support industries by providing trained human resources which would ultimately contribute to economic growth.
He expressed confidence that the partnership would yield positive outcomes for the entire region by promoting innovation, improving employability and bridging the gap between academic learning and industrial requirements.
University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Imran also emphasized the importance of closer coordination between academia and industry, stating that such partnerships are essential for preparing students to meet modern economic and technological challenges.
The agreement is expected to pave the way for sustainable development through knowledge sharing, research collaboration, and practical training opportunities for students in line with industry needs, he added.
