Exports up by 10.84 percent to $8.4 billion in Q1

ISLAMABAD, Oct 03 (APP):Exports from the country increased by 10.84 percent during the first quarter of the current fiscal year as compared to the corresponding period of last year, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported.
According to PBS data, the exports during July-September (2026-27) were recorded at $8.423 billion as compared to exports of $7.599 billion in July-September (2025-26).
Likewise, imports into the country also increased by 13.21 percent, from last year’s $16.973 billion to $19.215 billion during the year under review.
Based on the figures, the trade deficit increased by 15.13 percent to $10.792 billion this year form last year’s $9.374 billion, according to the data.
Meanwhile, on a year-on-year basis, the exports increased by 17.61 percent in September 2026 to $2.939 billion from $2.499 billion recorded during September 2025.
Imports also went up by 11.05 percent in September 2026 to $6.494 billion compared to imports of $5.848 billion during the same month of last year.
On month-on-month basis, exports from the country surged by 16.07 percent in September 2026 when compared to exports of $2.532 billion in August 2026.
The imports also went up by 11.50 percent in September compared to the imports of $5.824 billion in August 2026, according to the latest PBS data.
