ISLAMABAD, Feb 24 (APP): The export of footwear from the country witnessed an increase of 3.51 percent during the first seven months of current fiscal year (2025-26) as compared to the exports of the corresponding months of last year.
The country exported footwear worth US$ 113.269 million during July-January 2025-26 as opposed to the export of US$ 109.432 million during July-January 2024-25, showing growth of 3.51 percent, according to the data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
Among the footwear products, the exports of leather footwear witnessed a decline of 2.55 percent, from US$ 85.808 million to US$ 83.622 million during the months under review.
The exports of canvas footwear also decreased by 52.04 percent by going down from US$ 1.852 million last year to US$ 0.888 million, the PBS data revealed.
However, the exports of all other footwear rose by 32.09 percent to US$ 28.759 million from US$ 21.772 million in the same months last year.
Meanwhile, year-on-year basis, the footwear exports increased by 10.46 percent during the month of January 2026 as compared to the same month of last year.
The footwear exports during January 2026 were recorded at $20.656 million against the export of $18.701 million in January 2025.
During the period under review, the export of leather and all other footwear appreciated by 2.28 and 38.13 percent respectively. However, the export of canvas footwear dipped 70.52 percent.
On a month-on-month basis, the exports of footwear commodities went up by 9.79 percent during January 2026 as compared to the exports of $18.814 million in December 2025, the PBS data revealed.
On a month-on-month basis, the exports of leather and canvas footwear decreased by 1.11 and 87.59 percent respectively. In addition the export of all other footwear products surged by 56.28 percent, it added.
