The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department (ET&NC), Multan division, has exceeded the Punjab government’s annual revenue target by achieving an overall 104 per cent tax recovery during the fiscal year 2025–26, according to the department’s annual performance report.
ET&NC Multan surpasses revenue target with 104pc collection

MULTAN, Jul 03 (APP): The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department (ET&NC), Multan division, has exceeded the Punjab government’s annual revenue target by achieving an overall 104 per cent tax recovery during the fiscal year 2025–26, according to the department’s annual performance report.
Deputy Director Admin Khalid Hussain Qasuri stated that ET&NC Multan collected over Rs 5.37 billion revenue against a target of Rs 5.15 billion at the close of financial year 2025-26.
The official attributed the achievement to guidance of Director General ET&NC Punjab Umar Sher Chattha and the supervision of Director Multan Iftikhar Ahmed Bhalli under which officials worked harder and surpassed the target.
Motor Vehicle Tax collection dominated list, achieving 123 percent of its target. Against a target of Rs2.75 billion, the department collected Rs3.38 billion.
Excise Duty also exceeded expectations, with 122 percent recovery as the collections reached Rs150 million against a target of Rs122.5 million.
Property Tax collections stood at Rs1.64 billion, achieving 83 percent of the annual target of Rs1.97 billion while Luxury House Tax recorded 96 percent recovery with Rs 71 million collected against a target of Rs74 million.
Collections under Professional Tax reached Rs109 million, or 65 percent of the target of Rs167 million, while Highway Tax generated Rs54.2 million, achieving 68 percent of the target of Rs79 million.
District-wise, Vehari and Lodhran jointly secured the top position with 107 percent recovery, followed by Multan with 104 percent, while Khanewal achieved 103 percent, according to the annual report.
Director Excise and Taxation Multan Division Iftikhar Ahmed Bhalli said, the department’s performance reflected the dedication of its officers and officials as well as the confidence reposed by taxpayers, particularly the business community, in the Punjab government’s public-friendly policies.
He said, digital initiatives had enhanced public trust in the department by ensuring greater transparency in tax assessment and making tax payment more convenient for citizens. Bhalli also reaffirmed the department’s commitment to providing improved services during the new fiscal year and directed officers to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and ensure that taxpayers are treated with respect and dignity while performing official duties.
He, however, warned that strict legal action would continue against tax defaulters to curb tax evasion and improve revenue collection. He urged traders and citizens to clear all outstanding dues promptly, saying stronger tax compliance would enable the government to provide better public services.
