ISLAMABAD, Jun 2 (APP): The overseas workers remittances
during July-April FY 2016, reached to $16.034 billion as compared to
$15.235 billion in same period last year, showing a growth of 5.25
percent over the last year.
According to Pakistan Economic Survey, launched here by
Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, the growth in remittances is
due to number of initiatives taken by the present government under
Pakistan Remittance Initiatives.
The remittances data provide clear evidence that overseas
Pakistanis are playing significant contribution in socio-economic
development of the country.
