National Savings increase to 14.6 of GDP

ISLAMABAD, Jun 2 (APP): The National savings increased to 14.6
percent of GDP during the outgoing fiscal year (2015-16) against
14.5 percent last year.
According to Pakistan Economic Survey, launched Thursday here
by Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, domestic savings have been
recorded at 8.3 percent of GDP this fiscal year as compared to 8.4
percent of GDP the last year.
The net foreign resource inflows finance the saving investment
gap and is essential for the sustainable growth that saving
investment gap should be filled in a prudent way.
Saving is a key determinant of achieving higher level of
investment in the country, it added.
