Customs seizes smuggled goods worth Rs. 183.23 mln

ISLAMABAD, Jan 5 (APP):Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Quetta, in a series of successful intelligence-based operations (IBOs), seized large consignments of smuggled goods worth Rs. 183.23 million.
The operations were conducted in Quetta and Mangochar, District Kalat, with the assistance of the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Frontier Corps (FC), said a news release.
The seized items include foreign-origin betel nuts, cigarettes, tyres, cloth, and computer servers. The total tentative CIF value of the recovered smuggled goods has been estimated at Rs. 183.23 million.
These operations were carried out on the basis of credible and actionable intelligence, reflecting the unwavering commitment of Customs Enforcement Quetta to curb smuggling and safeguard the national economy.
The timely support and effective coordination with law enforcement agencies in Balochistan played a pivotal role in the successful execution of these operations.
The FBR reiterates its resolve to continue strict enforcement actions against smuggling, illegal trade and corrupt practices to ensure compliance with the law and protection of national economic interests.
