HYDERABAD, Jul 19 (APP):Commissioner Nadeem Rehman Memon on Tuesday said that it was a national duty to conduct the local government elections on July 24 in a free, fair, impartial and transparent manner and for this purpose the code of conduct issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan must be strictly implemented.
He said this while addressing a seminar at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Tando Allahyar and a meeting held at Matiari DC office, regarding the implementation of the Election Code of Conduct.
Nadeem-ur-Rahman Memon said”The monitoring teams established to ensure the implementation of the code of conduct will submit their report daily on the violation of the code of conduct, on the basis of which action will be taken against the violators.”
Memon further said “The code of conduct is also for the civil servants and they must remain impartial during local govt elections.”
Addressing the seminar, DIG Syed Pir Muhammad Shah said “Foolproof security plan has been formed for the conduct of peaceful elections, while 8 personnel will be deployed at all sensitive polling stations across the district.”
“A part from above initiatives, Rapid Response Force (RRF) consisting Rangers and Police Commandos will also conduct patrolling across the region,” DIG Shah added.
The DIG further said “There will be a complete ban on the display of weapons during the elections.”
While giving a briefing on the code of conduct, Deputy Commissioner Wali Muhammad Baloch said”There is a ban on placing billboards for publicity, while the size of posters, handbills, pamphlets and banners has been fixed.
He directed all the departments and officers to do their utmost to complete the process of free, fair and impartial elections in a peaceful and peaceful environment.”
In the seminar, SSP Farooq Ahmad Bajarani, ADC II Hyderabad Sanaullah Rind, ADC I Tando Allahyar Muhammad Ibrahim Almani, all Assistant Commissioners, District Officers of concerned departments and participating candidates also attended the seminar.
Meanwhile, Commissioner also presided a meeting in the office of DC Matiari and reviewed LG polls preparations and asked officers concerned to utilize all resource to ensure free, fair and impartial local body elections in the district.
Meeting was attended among others by the DIG Sayed Pir Muhammad Shah, DC Matiari Muhammad Adnan Rashid and SSP Muhammad Kaleem Malik.
