ISLAMABAD, Jul 15 (APP):Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, met with members of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Pakistan at the House of Commons on Tuesday.
The meeting focused on deepening bilateral economic ties, enhancing parliamentary cooperation, and leveraging the potential of the British Pakistani diaspora to strengthen trade and investment links, said a release issued here.
The minister briefed the APPG members on Pakistan’s recent economic reforms aimed at fostering macroeconomic stability and inclusive growth.
He highlighted initiatives such as tariff rationalization under the National Tariff Policy, the operationalization of the Pakistan Single Window for trade facilitation, and the development of Special Economic Zones offering attractive incentives for foreign investors.
The discussion also explored avenues for collaboration in green technologies, renewable energy, and Pakistan’s growing IT sector, positioning the country as a competitive destination for UK businesses seeking supply chain diversification.
Acknowledging the pivotal role of the 1.7 million-strong British Pakistani diaspora, the Minister emphasized its contribution as a bridge between the two nations.
Both sides agreed on the importance of continued parliamentary engagement and private sector collaboration to ensure sustained momentum following the signing of the UK–Pakistan Trade Dialogue Machnizim earlier in the day.
