FAISALABAD, Jan 12 (APP):The experts said that collaborative efforts on the part of academia, research, extension, farming community and industry with integrated approach are imperative for ensuring food security.
They were addressing a meeting of Regional Agriculture Forum Central Punjab at University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF).
UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ali presided over the meeting while Chief Scientist Wheat Ayub Agricultural Research Institute (AARI) Dr Javed Ahmad, Director Agriculture Extension Faisalabad Khalid Mehmood, UAF Dean Agriculture Dr Ghulam Murtaza, Director ORIC Dr Rao Zahid Abbas, Registrar Dr Asif Kamran, ED Endowment Fund Dr Babar Shahbaz, Director P&D Irfan Abbas, Director Academic Dr Hafizah Shafia Tehseen Gull and other notables were also present on the occasion.
The central Punjab agricultural forum consists of six divisions including Faisalabad, Lahore, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Gujranwala and Gujrat.
The meeting agreed to more launching capacity building programs and crop wise collaborative efforts on all stakeholders be enhanced and demonstration fields will be jointly set to showcase the modern technology.
The meeting also called for strong academic industry linkages, knowledge sharing, promoting innovation and commercialization of research and development.
The meeting lauded the wheat campaign run by UAF and Extension Department in November 2025
