FAISALABAD, Jul 22 (APP):University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ali said that better collaboration between scientists and farmers are essential to increase production and ensure food security.
He was addressing a meeting with a delegation of Anjuman-e-Kashtkaraan. Secretary Information of the Anjuman Muhammad Khan, Hum Kisan Federation Chairperson Mian Irfan, Shamsul Din, Muhammad Iqbal, Awais Aslam, Deputy Registrar/Technical Staff Officer UAF Muhammad Asif Saddique and others were also present on the occasion.
Dr Zulfiqar Ali said that it is essential to set agriculture on a scientific basis to uplift the lives of rural folks and agricultural sustainability.
He called for adopting advanced agri technologies to increase productivity and extend benefits to the farming community. Referring to the recent global climate challenges, he called for smart agricultural practices to enhance productivity.
The delegation also met Senior Tutor Dr Shaukat Ali, Dr Muhammad Naveed, Dr Irfan Ahmad and Dr Abdul Wakeel and obtained briefing on modern agri-technologies.
