Aurangzeb, Standard Chartered CEO discuss financing, capital market opportunities

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb met Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) Chief Executive Officer Bill Winters here on Tuesday and discussed Pakistan’s ongoing structural reforms, macroeconomic developments and future areas of cooperation.

LONDON, Sep 29 (APP): Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb met Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) Chief Executive Officer Bill Winters here on Tuesday and discussed Pakistan’s ongoing structural reforms, macroeconomic developments and future areas of cooperation.
The Finance Minister appreciated SCB’s continued support to Pakistan and its cooperation in various financing and capital market transactions, a Finance Division news release said.
The meeting also discussed future areas of collaboration between Pakistan and SCB, including tokenization, international Sukuk and other financing opportunities.
The Finance Minister highlighted the potential role of SCB’s strong investor network across Europe, the Middle East and Asia in facilitating continued investor outreach and enhancing Pakistan’s market visibility.
The discussions also covered potential capital market transactions to support the government’s privatisation programme, including opportunities on both the buy-side and sell-side.
Advisor to the Prime Minister on Privatisation Muhammad Ali and Advisor to the Finance Minister Omer Khan were also present at the meeting.
