ISLAMABAD, Mar 4 (APP):Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal on Wednesday visited the headquarters of Energy China Pakistan, where he was warmly received by the company’s leadership and project teams.
During the visit, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening strategic partnership and deepening cooperation under the framework of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
“During the visit, I toured the Exhibition Hall and reviewed key energy milestones achieved under CPEC,” the minister wrote in a post on X.
He was briefed on ongoing initiatives, progress on various projects, and future strategies aimed at enhancing energy security and promoting sustainable development.
Later, a meeting was held with the leadership of China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) and project teams, where detailed discussions were held on the progress of major hydropower projects, including the Suki Kinari Hydropower Project, Dasu Hydropower Project, Mohmand Dam and Neelum–Jhelum Hydropower Plant.
The meeting observed that these projects were playing a pivotal role in accelerating hydropower development, strengthening energy security and advancing green growth objectives under the second phase of CPEC.
Participants stressed that the timely completion of these projects would significantly contribute to achieving sustainable and environmentally friendly development targets.
Ahsan Iqbal reiterated the government’s firm commitment to policy continuity, investment protection and transparent implementation of development projects.
He said the government was focusing on promoting industrial cooperation, green energy and regional connectivity under CPEC’s second phase to further boost investor confidence.
