ISLAMABAD, Sep 25 (APP):“Africa House Pakistan and the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB)” of the Republic of Rwanda have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening cooperation in coffee culture, education, technical expertise and bilateral trade between Rwanda and Pakistan.
The agreement, signed at NAEB’s headquarters in Kigali, marks a significant milestone for Africa House Pakistan, as it represents the first MoU of its kind between the organization and a governmental institution of a foreign state.
The MoU was signed by Claude Bizimana, Chief Executive Officer of NAEB, and Muhammad Rehan Younas, Founder and Chairman of Africa House Pakistan.
The partnership seeks to establish stronger links between Rwanda’s renowned coffee sector and Pakistan’s growing coffee culture and consumer market.
It provides a framework for cooperation in promoting Rwandan coffee heritage and culture in Pakistan, while creating opportunities for knowledge sharing and greater understanding of coffee production and consumption.
Under the agreement, the two sides will explore cooperation in coffee education, training and knowledge exchange, with an emphasis on developing skills and expertise across the coffee value chain.
The MoU also provides a platform for sharing technical knowledge in areas including coffee sourcing, roasting and quality management. Such cooperation is expected to facilitate greater interaction between industry professionals, producers, traders and other stakeholders in both countries.
Another key area of the partnership is the development of direct and sustainable trade linkages between Rwandan coffee producers and Pakistani buyers.
By strengthening connections between producers and markets, the initiative aims to create new avenues for commercial engagement while supporting sustainable trade.
The signing ceremony in Kigali underscores the growing interest in expanding economic and commercial relations between Pakistan and Rwanda beyond traditional areas of cooperation.
For Africa House Pakistan, the agreement represents a further step in its efforts to build institutional and business connections between Pakistan and African countries.
Muhammad Rehan Younas, Founder and Chairman of Africa House Pakistan said on the occasion, that the partnership reflects its commitment to creating meaningful bridges between Pakistan and the African continent.
The MoU is also expected to provide a foundation for future engagement involving coffee professionals, businesses, educators and other stakeholders, potentially contributing to greater awareness of Rwandan coffee in Pakistan and increased opportunities for bilateral trade, he said.
Rehan said the agreement comes as both sides seek to deepen economic ties and explore new avenues of cooperation, with coffee emerging as an important area for connecting businesses and consumers in Rwanda and Pakistan.
