Medium Term Goals to help achieve GDP growth to 7 percent: Dar

ISLAMABAD, Jun 4 (APP): Federal Finance Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Saturday said, the country, through medium terms goals announced in the federal budget, would achieve GDP growth of 7 per cent by Financial Year 2018-19.

Addressing a post Budget press conference, he said, this
measure would not only take Pakistan to a new ‘pitch’ but help contain inflation to the single digit.

The Minister hoped that at the end of the medium term, the
investment to GDP ratio will rise to 21 percent.

He said, the fiscal deficit would be brought to 3.5 percent of
GDP while tax to GDP ratio would be increased to 13.9 per cent.

Ishaq Dar expressed the confidence that foreign exchange
reserves would reach $ 30 billion by the year 2019.
