QUETTA, Jun 29 (APP): Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Monday said that a strong parliamentary system is the guarantee of a stable, prosperous and developed Pakistan.
In his message on the occasion of International Parliament Day, he said that this day provides an effective opportunity to highlight the importance of democratic values, parliamentary traditions, rule of law and public representation around the world.
He said that a strong and active parliament is the foundation of a stable, peaceful and developed society, where the voice of the people is heard in a constitutional and democratic manner and solutions to national problems are sought through legislation.
The Chief Minister said that the Constitution of Pakistan provides a strong foundation for parliamentary democracy and all state institutions perform their responsibilities within the ambit of the constitution.
He said that the stability of democratic institutions, supremacy of the constitution and rule of law are the guarantee of national unity, political stability and sustainable development.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that the Balochistan Assembly is the spokesperson of the aspirations of the people of the province and the government considers the solution of public problems, effective legislation, transparent governance and public service as its top priority.
He said that further strengthening the principles of parliamentary traditions, accountability, transparency and consultation is the need of the hour to live up to the trust of the people. The Chief Minister of Balochistan said that in the present era, the role of parliament is not limited to lawmaking alone but also plays a key role in achieving the goals of national consensus, social harmony, public welfare and sustainable development.
He said that effective representation of women, youth and all sections of society further strengthens the democratic system.
He reiterated the resolve that the Balochistan government would continue its efforts for good governance, effective legislation and public welfare in the province while adhering to the principles of constitutional supremacy, democratic traditions, transparent governance and public service.
