Motorway Police return jewellery worth Rs2.2 million to owner, set example of honesty

The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) have set a new benchmark of honesty, professionalism, and public service by safely returning gold jewellery and other valuables worth approximately Rs 2.2 million to their rightful owner.

GWADAR, Jun 18 (APP): The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) have set a new benchmark of honesty, professionalism, and public service by safely returning gold jewellery and other valuables worth approximately Rs 2.2 million to their rightful owner.
According to details, during routine patrolling near Gwadar, NHMP officers discovered a bag lying on the roadside containing expensive jewellery and other items.
The officers immediately took the bag into protective custody and began efforts to trace the owner. Initial attempts proved unsuccessful, prompting the police to launch an awareness campaign through social media and local sources, while keeping the details of the valuables confidential to ensure only the genuine owner could identify them.
Subsequently, the rightful owner contacted the Motorway Police and provided complete and accurate information about the bag and its contents. After fulfilling all legal and verification requirements, the bag along with the jewellery was handed over to him. The owner revealed that the bag had accidentally fallen during travel, and he was unaware of its loss. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Motorway Police for their honesty, professionalism, and timely action.
On this occasion, DIG West Zone Balochistan, Dr Quraish Khan, announced cash rewards and commendation certificates for the officers involved. He praised their integrity and professional conduct, stating: “Motorway Police consider the protection of people’s lives and property as their foremost responsibility. Our officers will continue to uphold the law, serve the public, and strengthen trust under all circumstances.”
