QUETTA, Jun 06 (APP): Provincial Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove received a detailed briefing on the death of the prime suspect involved in the recent acid attack incident.
He was informed that following the crime, law enforcement agencies launched a district-wide search and combing operation to arrest the accused.
Initial reports indicated that the suspect, Humayun Shah, was traced near the Intercity Bus Terminal.
Police instructed him to surrender, but he opened fire on the police party. In retaliatory fire, the suspect was injured and later succumbed to his wounds.
From the scene, police recovered a pistol, four live rounds, and two empty bullet casings. All evidence has been taken into custody in accordance with legal procedures, and further investigations are underway to examine every aspect of the incident.
The Home Minister said that the government is fully committed to ensuring the safety of citizens’ lives and property. He emphasized that strict and indiscriminate action will continue against all elements who attempt to take the law into their own hands.
He praised the timely action of police and law enforcement agencies, directing them to ensure strict implementation of the government’s zero-tolerance policy against heinous crimes such as acid attacks.
