Governor lauds role of Turbat University for ranking 91%
QUETTA, Jul 21 (APP):Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhel on Tuesday said that the University of Turbat has emerged as a proud higher education institution in various respects.
He said that it is the only university in Pakistan where more than half of the total number of students are female, which is a powerful symbol of social change and educational progress.
He expressed these views while presiding over the 10th Senate meeting of the University of Turbat. Provincial Education Minister Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, Balochistan High Court Justice Sardar Ahmed Halimi, Turbat University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Gul Hassan, Provincial Secretary Higher Education Saleh Baloch, Higher Education Commission Representative Dr Zahoor Bazai, Principal Secretary to Governor Balochistan Abdul Nasir Dotani, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Kamal Ahmed, Dean Faculty Dr Abdul Saboor (Tamgha Imtiaz), Dean Faculty Dr Tahir Hakim, Registrar Gangozar Baloch, Director Riaz Ahmed and Director Ijaz-e-Ahmed, along with all Senate members were present on the occasion.
The Governor said that another achievement that deserves praise is the remarkable progress of the university in ranking and scoring saying that it is encouraging that the next five-year plan of the University of Turbat is also very clear and it has increased its ranking and scoring performance to 91.4 percent, for which the credit went to the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hassan and his entire team.
He mentioned that however, this is not the final destination of success because excellence is a continuous process.
Talking to the participants, Governor Balochistan said that it is necessary to clarify the constitutional and administrative position of the University Senate, the Senate enjoys the same status within the university as the cabinet enjoys in the government.
It is the most legitimate decision-making body of the university, so whenever the Senate reaches a decision after due deliberation, the said decision becomes final and its implementation is mandatory. This institutional framework ensures transparency, accountability and continuity in our universities. Respect for the decisions of the Senate is in fact respect for the rule of law, institutional integrity and the collective wisdom of the academic community.
Governor Mandokhel, in a message to the students of the University of Turbat, said that your greatest strength is your love of learning and bookishness. Continue your passion and enthusiasm for your education because knowledge is the most powerful investment that guarantees your bright future.
As a result of the suggestions and recommendations of all the participants of the 10th Senate meeting of the University of Turbat, several important decisions were taken.
