Governor emphasizes technical education & NAVTTC’s role in youth empowerment

Governor of Balochistan, Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, has underscored the importance of aligning technical and professional training programs with market demands and local economic realities to secure a prosperous future for the youth.

QUETTA, Nov 03 (APP): Governor of Balochistan, Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, has underscored the importance of aligning technical and professional training programs with market demands and local economic realities to secure a prosperous future for the youth.

He made these remarks while addressing a high-level delegation led by Member of the National Assembly (MNA) and Chairman NAVTTC, Qamar Islam Raja, during a meeting at the Governor House in Quetta.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including NAVTTC Pakistan Executive Director Nadia Karim Shah, Principal Secretary Abdul Nasir Dotani, and NAVTTC Balochistan Director General Dr. Hussain Bakhsh Magsi.

Governor Jaffar Mandokhail highlighted that institutions like the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) hold immense significance because their professional programs directly reflect market trends and human needs.

“When bookish knowledge and conceptual ideas are linked with ground realities and human needs, they produce real and meaningful results,” the Governor said. He described NAVTTC as a cornerstone of development, self-reliance, and a guarantor of a bright future for the younger generation.

Stressing the unique economic landscape of the province, Governor Mandokhail pointed out that all divisions in Balochistan do not share identical economic requirements. Each division possesses distinct socio-economic characteristics, necessitating training programs tailored specifically to local economic contexts.

He emphasized that NAVTTC’s primary responsibility is to design vocational training aligned with industry demands, market trends, and practical everyday requirements. The goal, he added, must go beyond merely fulfilling syllabus criteria—it should equip youth for gainful employment, encourage self-employment, and pave the way for economic autonomy.

Highlighting the transformative impact of technical skills, the Governor noted that proficiency in fields like machine operation, electrical work, solar technology, auto-mechanics, and information technology enables young individuals to build independent livelihoods while actively contributing to the national economy.

He further announced that public sector universities are already imparting modern skills, and with the support of NAVTTC, technical education at the district level is projected to play an instrumental role in generating employment opportunities.

“This is not merely a numerical target,” the Governor concluded, “but a comprehensive strategy aimed at narrowing the gap between higher education and employment through robust training centers equipped with modern tools, laboratories, and practical industrial exposure.”
