QUETTA, Jun 16 (APP): Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan chaired an important meeting at the CM Secretariat to review the province’s development priorities and ensure the strengthening of basic infrastructure.
The meeting focused on the progress of strategic projects at both provincial and district levels, with directives issued for their timely completion, quality control, and delivery of public benefits.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Secretary emphasized that the transparent and timely completion of strategic projects not only strengthens infrastructure but also creates new employment opportunities, thereby contributing to economic stability.
He noted that improved roads, clean water, quality health and education facilities, and sustainable energy sources ease daily life for citizens, enhance family prosperity, improve children’s education, and lead to better health outcomes.
Highlighting ongoing initiatives, he said the provincial government has launched Safe City projects in various districts to strengthen urban security systems through cameras, command and control centers, and upgraded monitoring mechanisms.
The meeting also reviewed the installation phases of infrastructure projects. In the education sector, a program to construct additional classrooms in schools has been initiated, with 704 out of 3,000 rooms scheduled for completion this month.
Agricultural development was also discussed, with expansion of irrigation facilities in command areas and implementation of modern farming practices expected to boost productivity and farmers’ incomes.
The Chief Secretary stressed the importance of timely financial approvals and transparent use of funds, directing strict monitoring to ensure adherence to quality standards and safety measures.
He reaffirmed that transparent and effective completion of projects remains a provincial priority, instructing all relevant authorities to take every possible step in this regard.
He noted that positive outcomes are already emerging from development projects in energy, agriculture, vocational training (B-TEVTA), education, health, public health, enterprise development, and livestock sectors, which he described as encouraging signs for the province’s future.
