QUETTA, Oct 12 (APP):Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti chaired a detailed review meeting in Sui to assess progress on development projects and evaluate the performance of various government departments, with a focus on education, healthcare, public service delivery and district administration.
The meeting reviewed ongoing development schemes, the provision of education and health facilities, public welfare initiatives and the overall performance of the district administration.
The chief minister directed all relevant departments to accelerate work on ongoing development projects and ensure their completion within stipulated time-lines without compromising on quality.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti specifically instructed authorities to ensure the completion of the Gopat Water Supply Scheme by April 1, 2027, to address the drinking water needs of local residents. He also directed officials to take the necessary steps for the establishment of a new girls’ high school in Sui and implement effective measures for plantation and the promotion of forestry along the Sui Ring Road.
Emphasising the importance of healthcare services, the chief minister ordered the provision of an ambulance for the Indus Hospital in Sui and called for additional medical facilities to be made available. He stressed that the Health Department must effectively fulfil its responsibilities to provide quality healthcare services to the public.
Sarfraz Bugti further directed that labour rooms established in remote areas should remain fully functional and that maternal and child healthcare services should be strengthened to ensure women have access to essential medical facilities within their own communities.
The chief minister also reviewed anti-polio efforts and instructed authorities to maintain effective monitoring and preventive measures aimed at eradicating the virus. He said all concerned institutions must diligently perform their responsibilities to protect children from the disease.
Highlighting the importance of education, he called for ensuring the continued functioning of educational institutions, improving teacher attendance in schools and guaranteeing the regular presence of healthcare staff at medical facilities. He said improved performance and accountability within relevant departments were essential for the effective delivery of education and health services.
Sarfraz Bugti directed all departments to regularly monitor development projects and ensure that both the pace of implementation and quality standards are maintained.
He also praised the performance of the district administration, particularly its efforts to keep labour rooms operational in remote areas, provide routine maternity services, ensure schools remain open and improve attendance among teachers and health staff.
The chief minister instructed officials to sustain recent improvements in public service delivery while further accelerating the development process so that the people of Sui and adjoining areas could fully benefit from ongoing government initiatives.
