CM Bugti suspends Agricultural College Principal over tree cutting, orders inquiry

QUETTA, Mar 14 (APP):Chief Minister (CM) of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti, has taken strict notice of the reported cutting of trees inside the premises of an agricultural college after videos and photographs of the incident circulated widely on social media.
Expressing strong displeasure, Sarfraz Bugti termed the alleged tree cutting a violation of environmental protection principles and contrary to government policies. He stressed that illegal felling of trees would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Following his directives, the principal of the concerned agricultural college has been suspended to ensure a transparent and impartial investigation. Officials said the suspension is intended to facilitate a fair inquiry and establish the facts surrounding the case.
The CM directed relevant authorities to conduct a comprehensive inquiry, identify those responsible, and determine whether negligence, mismanagement, or violations of rules occurred at any level. He warned that if wrongdoing is proven, strict legal action will be taken in accordance with the law.
Reiterating the government’s commitment, Sarfraz Bugti said the provincial administration places high priority on environmental conservation, tree plantation, and protection of public property. He emphasized that negligence or violations related to these principles would not be tolerated.
CM Bugti further reaffirmed that the Government of Balochistan will ensure strict implementation of environment-friendly policies across the province.
