CM Balochistan reviews progress of ongoing development projects

QUETTA, Oct 05 (APP): Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Monday presided over a meeting of Secretaries Committee to review progress of ongoing development projects and government performance sectors on past two and a half year.
Provincial Ministers Mir Sadiq Umrani, Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Mir Saleem Khan Khosa, and Mir Shoaib Nosherwani attended the meeting as special invitees.
The meeting reviewed ongoing development projects in Balochistan, reforms across various sectors, and the performance of government departments over the past two and a half years.
Balochistan Health Secretary Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Panezai briefed the participants on the implementation of the DHIS2 digital health system, noting significant improvements in digital data reporting and reporting compliance within the health sector.
He stated that the scope of DHIS2 would be further expanded to promote the digitalization of primary healthcare, artificial intelligence, local innovations, and research.
Referring to his recent visit to Oslo, the Health Secretary mentioned that the Balochistan government’s digital health and reform initiatives were lauded at a global forum, with the effective implementation of DHIS2 and the utilization of data in the province hailed as a significant achievement.
He said that measures are being taken in collaboration with the University of Oslo’s HISP Centre to conduct joint research, facilitate technical exchanges, and showcase Balochistan’s digital health model on the international stage, focus is also being placed on establishing a robust DHIS2 core team within the Health Department and enhancing the capacity of relevant staff.
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti expressed satisfaction with the departments’ performance over the past two and a half years, saying that future reforms would ensure the promotion of merit and the implementation of AI-based recruitment processes.
He emphasized the need to more effectively utilize modern technology and data-driven systems to improve public service delivery.
Provincial ministers attending the meeting commended the provincial government’s performance under Chief Minister Bugti’s leadership, noting that significant steps have been taken regarding sectoral reforms, the promotion of merit, transparency, and the enhancement of public services.
They highlighted that improvements in the development process, institutional reforms, and the adoption of modern technology are key components of the provincial government’s reform agenda.
They termed AI-based recruitment and a merit-based system as vital for the province’s future.
 Reaffirming their commitment to advancing the ongoing reform process under the Chief Minister’s leadership, the ministers pledged their continued full support for the successful implementation of the provincial government’s reform agenda.
