BRA intensifies enforcement drive against unregistered service providers across Balochistan

QUETTA, Aug 18 (APP): The Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA) has launched a special enforcement campaign to ensure strict compliance with the Balochistan Sales Tax on Services Act, 2015, targeting unregistered service providers and those failing to file tax returns on time.
According to BRA, service providers who are legally bound to register under the Act but have not yet done so are now facing legal action. Similarly, registered service providers who fail to submit their tax returns within the prescribed period are also being proceeded against under the law.
The Authority clarified that businesses such as restaurants, marriage halls, consultants, IT services, medical and other professional services, transport and courier services, builders, architects, property developers, and other taxable service providers must fulfill their registration and tax obligations wherever applicable.
BRA has directed registered service providers to file accurate tax returns on time and pay due taxes within the stipulated deadlines. Non-compliance will result in penalties, default surcharges, and other legal consequences under the Balochistan Sales Tax on Services Act, 2015 and relevant laws.
The Authority urged all service providers to voluntarily comply with tax laws, complete registration, and file returns promptly to avoid unnecessary legal complications. It emphasized that adherence to tax regulations is essential for promoting a transparent, fair, and efficient tax system in Balochistan.
