BBIT unveils Muhammad Nawaz Sharif International Civil Award in Quetta

QUETTA, Sep 28 (APP): Balochistan International Think Tank (BITT)  and Friends of Universe Society Pakistan organized the unveiling ceremony of the “The Real Democrat Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif International Civil Award” at the Governor House, Quetta.

Governor Balochistan Sheikh Jaffar Mandokhail attended as chief guest.

Prominent participants included Chairman of the Balochistan International Think Tank Awais Jadoon, Provincial Minister Asim Kurd Gilo, Education Minister Raheela Durrani, Advisor on Climate Change Naseem-ur-Rehman Malakhail, and Provincial General Secretary of Pakistan Muslim League-N Jamal Shah Kakar, along with a large number of dignitaries from diverse walks of life.

Speaking at the ceremony, Awais Jadoon said the award was dedicated to former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in recognition of his immense democratic services and sacrifices for the establishment of genuine democracy in Pakistan. He noted that the proposal to name the award after Nawaz Sharif was put forward by Jamal Shah Kakar.

The award will be conferred upon distinguished individuals from four countries of the region in 14 different fields of excellence, with the central ceremony scheduled later this year in Lahore.

This award is part of the Heroes of Earth – Heroes of Pakistan chapter, marking the 33rd international award by the Think Tank and Friends of Universe Society Pakistan. Globally, the series includes awards named after Quaid-e-Azam, Nelson Mandela, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, Karl Marx, Mao Zedong, Vladimir Lenin, Allama Iqbal, Bacha Khan, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, and Maulana Mufti Mahmood.

The addition of an award in Nawaz Sharif’s name was described as a welcome recognition of his democratic contributions, a proposal strongly supported by Pakistan Muslim League-N Balochistan.
