Balochistan to host first-ever investment and trade expo

QUETTA, Jun 30 (APP):On the directives of Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBoIT), in collaboration with the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), will organize the province’s first-ever Balochistan Investment and Trade Expo (BITE 2026) next month.
A high-level stakeholders’ meeting was held at BUITEMS under the chairmanship of BBoIT Vice Chairman Bilal Khan Kakar. The meeting was attended by BBoIT CEO Qaim Lashari, BUITEMS Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mir Wais Kasi, Registrar Dr. Ahsan Achakzai, FPCCI Advisory Board Chairman Mian Zahid Hussain, and representatives from business, financial institutions, government departments, academia, and social organizations.
Addressing the meeting, Vice Chairman Bilal Khan Kakar said that the Chief Minister has given clear instructions to create a conducive environment and ease of doing business for investors and the business community.
He added that the government is taking practical steps to encourage youth towards entrepreneurship and industry, and the upcoming Expo is a vital part of this vision. “It is time to end despair and present Balochistan’s positive, peaceful, and investment-friendly image to the world,” he remarked.
BUITEMS Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Mir Wais Kasi described the Expo as a unique and highly positive initiative, assuring full cooperation from the university. He praised Vice Chairman Kakar’s role in promoting investment and facilitating the business community in the province.
BBoIT CEO Qaim Lashari said the Expo will provide an effective platform not only for established businesses but also for youth, new entrepreneurs, and startups, enabling them to connect with investors, financial institutions, and business experts.
BUITEMS Registrar Dr. Ahsan Achakzai briefed participants on the objectives, proposed program, and layout plan of the Expo, while stakeholders shared suggestions to make the event more impactful and successful.
