Balochistan Police arrest hundreds in province-wide crackdown, rescue 16 abductees

QUETTA, Sep 11 (APP):In a major crackdown against criminal elements, Balochistan Police have arrested 44 proclaimed offenders, 249 absconders, and 492 suspects involved in various crimes across 33 districts in the province’s nine ranges.
During the operations, police also successfully rescued 16 abductees, including an 11-year-old girl, ensuring their safe return to families.
According to a press release issued by the police spokesperson, the campaign was launched under the directives of Inspector General Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir, with a zero-tolerance policy against criminals to safeguard
law-abiding citizens. The operations led to the recovery of a significant cache of weapons, including 95 pistols and revolvers, 6 Kalashnikovs, 7 shotguns and rifles, 770 rounds of ammunition, and 48 magazines.
In addition, police intensified action against drug traffickers, arresting 62 suspects and seizing 81.468 kilograms of hashish, 10.67 kilograms of crystal meth (ice), 525 grams of opium, 200 packets of gutka, 45 grams of crystal, 49 bottles of liquor, six liters of homemade alcohol, and 1,279 illegal cigarette packs.
The crackdown also resulted in the recovery of three stolen vehicles, 44 motorcycles, and 13 mobile phones. Furthermore, police impounded six vehicles and motorcycles for violations under Section 550, while 2,253 vehicles had tinted glasses removed.
Officials emphasized that the campaign woud continue without interruption to ensure a peaceful and secure environment in Balochistan. Police personnel have been instructed to adopt courteous and respectful behavior with the public, resolve complaints promptly, and maintain transparency in all actions.
