Balochistan Police arrest 144 suspects, recover arms, drugs & stolen vehicles

The Balochistan Police have arrested 144 suspects during a province-wide crackdown against criminal elements over the past three weeks, recovering a large cache of weapons, narcotics, stolen vehicles, and other valuables.

QUETTA, Mar 10 (APP): The Balochistan Police have arrested 144 suspects during a province-wide crackdown against criminal elements over the past three weeks, recovering a large cache of weapons, narcotics, stolen vehicles, and other valuables.
The campaign was launched under the directives of Inspector General (IG) Police Muhammad Tahir, with targeted actions carried out against drug dealers, proclaimed offenders, fugitives, and individuals involved in serious crimes such as robbery, vehicle snatching, mobile phone theft, and burglary, said a news release.
The Police weapons include 122 pistols/revolvers, 4 Kalashnikov rifles, 15 shotguns, 594 rounds of ammunition, and 91 magazines.
Police also recovered 5 stolen vehicles, 39 motorcycles, and 12 mobile phones.
The police also seized 743.678 kg of hashish, 11.630 kg crystal meth (ice), 10.665 kg opium, 1,620 bottles of liquor and other Items including 450 packs of foreign cigarettes, 1,478 liters of petrol, 203 liters of diesel, and Rs 300,000 cash.
Police also rescued 10 kidnapped individuals during the operations.
Arrested 111 suspects detained in narcotics cases, 295 fugitives arrested, 402 proclaimed offenders apprehended and 718 additional suspects taken into custody.
27 motorcycles and vehicles were seized under stolen property laws.
The police removed black-tinted windows from 2,109 vehicles as part of traffic enforcement.
Authorities said the crackdown was conducted in Quetta and several districts across seven police ranges, focusing on combating serious crimes and preventing criminals from moving between districts to evade arrest.
Police officials confirmed that the records of all arrested suspects are being scrutinized to determine involvement in other cases, with coordination underway with police departments in other provinces for verification and exchange of criminal records.
Reiterating their commitment, Balochistan Police said they will continue operations against criminal networks to protect the lives and property of citizens and ensure a peaceful, crime-free environment across the province.
