Balochistan government places technical institutions under B-TEVTA control

QUETTA, Aug 21 (APP): The Balochistan government has formally announced the restructuring of all Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions across the province.
According to a notification issued under the Balochistan Government Rules of Business 2012 and the Balochistan Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Amendment) Act 2026, all TVET institutions previously operating under different administrative setups will now function under the regulatory and operational control of Balochistan Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (B-TEVTA).
The notification states that institutions earlier managed by the Directorate of Manpower Training, the Directorate of Industries and Commerce (Training), and the Colleges, Higher & Technical Education Department — including polytechnic and monotechnic institutes as well as Government Colleges of Technology — will now be reorganized under B-TEVTA. Any other public sector TVET institution notified in the future will also fall under its jurisdiction.
While B-TEVTA will exercise operational control, administrative matters including establishment, service structures, and manpower management will remain with the Labour and Manpower Department. Assets, records, ongoing projects, and financial obligations of the dissolved Balochistan Board of Technical and Vocational Education will automatically transfer to B-TEVTA and BTEVAB. Financial affairs of B-TEVTA will also be managed administratively by the Labour and Manpower Department.
Officials believe this consolidation will streamline technical education, strengthen institutional capacity, and ensure uniform standards across training centers, colleges, and polytechnics in Balochistan.
