QUETTA, Jul 20 (APP):Balochistan Chief Minister, Mir Sarfraz Bugti met with British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott in Islamabad on Monday, and discussed matters of mutual interest, development cooperation in Balochistan and promotion of bilateral relations.
During the meeting, the possibilities of cooperation in various sectors including education, health, governance, institutional capacity building and investment were reviewed.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister Balochistan also apprised the British High Commissioner of the ongoing administrative reforms in the province, public welfare projects and the development priorities of the government, said a news release issued here.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that establishing peace in Balochistan, sustainable development, effective governance and provision of better facilities to the people were among the top priorities of the government.
He said that the provincial government was implementing comprehensive reforms to make the development process more effective and transparent.
He said that Balochistan was a province rich in mineral resources, geographical importance and vast investment opportunities, where new possibilities of development and prosperity were being created with the cooperation of international partners.
The Chief Minister expressed the hope that cooperation between the United Kingdom and Balochistan in various sectors would be further strengthened, which could help achieve public welfare and sustainable development goals.
British High Commissioner Ms. Jane Marriott appreciated the ongoing development initiatives, reform programs and efforts of the government for public service in Balochistan and expressed interest in further expanding cooperation in various sectors.
