Polling concluds in Lahore

LAHORE, Oct 31 (APP): The polling for the phase-I of
local bodies elections concluded at 5:30 pm in a peaceful
manner in the provincial capital.
The polling started at 7:30 am, As many as 4,305,880 registered voters exercised their right to vote at 3,269 polling stations set up in Lahore
for 274 union council (UC) seats.
The Lahore Police set-up 12 control rooms to monitor
elections in the city while large contingents of police
were deployed to deal with any untoward situation.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif visited
his native union council 70, Sarai Sultan area, Mcleod Road,
to poll his vote in the local bodies elections.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif polled his vote
at Metropolitan Corporation Lahore polling station.
