PML-N issues final list of candidates, contesting LB polls in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD, Oct 30 (APP): The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has issued a final list of its candidates, who are contesting the local government elections for the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC).
District Hyderabad’s President of the PML-N, Hanif Siddiqui, informed here the other day that the party had fielded candidates for the seats of chairmen on 6 seats and vice chairmen on as many.Bashir Chandio and Mohammad Ali Baloch will contest from UC 1, Muhammad Aslam and Nisar Malik from UC 2, Ali Akbar Vighio and Sajan Ali from UC 3, Rashid Ali Qaimkhani and Junaid Ali Cheepa from UC 13, Asghar Ali Mir and Masood Zaman from UC 15 and Agha Aijaz Ali Shah and Turab Ali from UC 16 on the seats of chairmen and vice chairmen respectively.
According to Siddiqui, the PML-N was contesting the election as part of an alliance dubbed as Tameer-i-Hyderabad Ittehad which consists of 10 political parties.
The seats had been proportionately divided among the allied parties, he added.
The HMC consists of 96 Union Committees and a Chairman and a vice Chairman is elected from each of the UCs.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has scheduled the elections for HMC as part of the second phase of the local government polls on November 19.
